FILKINS THEATRE... Founded 1986
40 years later, and still treading those boards!
Give it a few seconds to load...

Before we begin, and in answer to website visitors who ask: "where is Filkins?", our village is in the Cotswolds between Burford and Lechlade at GL73JJ. We have a population of about 450, clustered around the usual pub, and church, and village hall... But we also have a community shop, a bowls green, a village museum, and an outdoor public swimming pool, mostly because of Sir Stafford Cripps and his family.
Please do come and visit Filkins.
And now back to Filkins Theatre...
This is a personal tribute to FT, and all contact is welcome...
Comment, suggestions, offers of photographs and other material, anything!

Final(1)Final.jpg)
It all started in 1986 with a production of 'Hay Fever', starring the Gallant Nine: (l to r) Juliet Heslewood, Jeremy Irwin-Singer, Dorki Heslewood, Reggie Heslewood, Pat Clark, John Cambridge, Christopher Harrison, Teresa Smallbone, Pam Assiter... Plus (of course) the unsung heroes backstage.
Over the 40 years since that first production, there have been dozens of others, plus hundreds of monthly play-reading evenings, and parties, and visits... In fact, all sorts of dramatic adventures which this website will attempt to commemorate
